For some "new"/old hardware I need drivers.

So, Which is better Driver Detective, or Driver Cure?

Neither


first off, unless a new driver adds some functionality you need and
don't currently have, there is generally no need to update your drivers.

But if you do need a driver update the best place to get them is right
from the website of the manufacturer of your device.

a new machine. Original disks lost.

Then I'd simply use Hwinfo32 to ID your hardware if Windows was unable
to install all devices

Anyway I would use a free program rather than go and buy one
