I have 1 320GB Samsung Hard drive. It has an Extended partition on it which
is set Primary.

The drive "L" (of this Extended partition) is set to "Logical".

In the Control Panel and under Disk management I can see the "C" drive and
the "L" dive and they are shown as healthy. C drive has the OS on it, L
drive all Applications.

The "L" logical drive is in the Unhide position, yet in Windows Explorer
this
"L" drive does not show up at all.
For the OS I am using Windows XP Media edition.

What do I need to do ?

The partition I assume has been formatted since you said it contained
files.
Are you using the same pc as was used to format the drive or have you
put the drive in a different pc ?

I do not know anything about win media edition but I use win xp and I
have many drives . my logical drives all show up in explorer with no
special treatment . Just make the partition , format it and there it is .
I did have a problem with them showing up when I partitioned them with
some software that I do not remember the name of but think it was super
fdisk.

Perhaps your partition has become corrupt . If the data is not
absolutely important you might just try and re partition it with
partition magic or some other good program .
