Deleting dual book......

Ihave a 320 hard drive partitioned into two 160 drives, have XP on one (C)
and Windows 7 on the other (D), i want to get rid of the Windows 7 and make
it all one drive keeping the XP on.

If i format D and merge that to C will that suffice ? i dont want it to keep
asking me at boot up which to select.

any help appreciated
